It
is through the help of these supporters, who include so many individuals,
groups, agencies, and municipalities, that Community Family Development is able
to fulfill its mission and provide its programs to the children and families we
serve.
The
First Baptist Church and the First Congregational Church, the
locations of CFD's South and North Sites, provide the classroom space in which
the children are cared for as a part of the churches' stated mission of
outreach to their local community. These sites have been the home of CFD
since each day care center was first established more than thirty-five years
ago.
CFD
honors the devoted teaching and administrative staff, many of have served in
their positions for decades, who provide the care for the children and support
and services to their families.Many
children return to tell their stories about the love and support they
received at CFD as do many parents who speak about how important CFD's daycare
services were to them.
The
New York Office of Children and Family
Services, CFD's licensing agency, offers guidance on issues related to
the care of young children, as does the Child Care Council of Dutchess and
Putnam Inc. and its director, Jean Wagner.
The
Dutchess County Department of Social
Services provides scholarship funds for parents whose income cannot
fully sustain child care costs.In
addition, CFD has received financial support or training from the Dutchess County Government,Dutchess
County Department of Health, Dutchess County Cooperative Extension, Dutchess
County Department of Mental Hygiene, the Child Abuse Prevention
Center, and the City of
Poughkeepsie and its Office of
Community Development.
The
Dyson Foundation has generously provided support for needed projects and for
the development of a Strategic Plan of Action for CFD's immediate future.
Ulster
Savings Bank and the Ulster Savings Bank Foundation have been generous
contributors. They provided scholarships for families, and, in 2008,
funds were provided to complete the renovation of three model classrooms in the
North Site.
IBM is the Hudson Valley's largest private sector employee. Over the years, it has generously donated computer equipment.
Other
fabulous supporters over the years have been Central Hudson, the City of Poughkeepsie School District, the Poughkeepsie Journal, the Kiwanis
Club of Poughkeepsie, Eat Well-Play
Hard Program, Stewart's Holiday
Match Program, Rosie's For All
KidsFoundation, Toys
