Thanks to the help of so many
individuals, groups, agencies, and municipalities, the Community Family
Development is able to fulfill its mission and provide programs for the
children and families we serve.
The First Congregational Church
provides the classroom space in which the children are cared for as a part of
the churches' stated mission of outreach to their local community. This site
has been the home of CFD since the day care center was first established more
than forty years ago.
CFD honors the devoted teaching and
administrative staff, many of whom have served in their positions for decades,
which provide the care for the children and support and services to their
families. Many children return to tell their stories about the love and support
they received at CFD as do many parents who speak about how important CFD's
daycare services were to them
The New York Office of Children and
Family Services, CFD's licensing agency, offers guidance on issues related to
the care of young children, as does the Child Care Council of Dutchess and
Putnam Inc.
CFD has received financial support
and/or training from the Dutchess County Government, Dutchess County Department
of Health, Dutchess County Cooperative Extension, Dutchess County Department of
Mental Hygiene, the Child Abuse Prevention Center, and the City of Poughkeepsie
and its Office of Community Development.
The Dyson Foundation has generously
provided support for needed projects and for the development of a Strategic
Plan of Action for CFD's immediate future. Ulster Savings Bank and the Ulster
Savings Bank Foundation have also been generous contributors.
